For centuries, these horses were bred under the same standards and even today Lipizzans are bred according to traditional standards and objectives. The results of these efforts are reflected in their graceful performances at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. The Lipizzan is the living testimony of a piece of European baroque. As a baroque show piece and parade horse during our age of technology and as a relic of the past, it has retained its irreplaceable importance as a historic and cultural treasure.
The relatively rare Lipizzan breed indisputably is the embodiment of a touch of exclusivity. As fewer horses are being bred, in the future it will be necessary to take measures to ensure the continued existence of the breed.... As with other horse breeds where the country of origin was established as being responsible for all breeding matters, Bundesgetut Piber, Austria, has been entrusted with regulating Lipizzan breeding standards. Its objective is to breed these horses in their original form, to prepare future guidelines and breeding standards, and to make these available to other countries.

Breeding Standards in the Lipizzan Horse
Population. 1997.
It is this careful attention to producing quality horses that has sustained the Lipizzan through modern times. Lipizzans are trainable, graceful, and willing athletes. They characteristically have good bone structure and are very hardy. They are the original dressage horse but the qualities inherent in the Lipizzan also make them an excellent riding companions.
At Rolling Acres Lipizzans, we are dedicated to honoring the traditions of the Lipizzan breed while promoting the breed in the United States. Our select group of broodmares all have direct Piber bloodlines and we have bred to the incomparable imported Spanish Riding School stallion Conversano Toscana III for a 2009 foal crop. Having already sired 8 foals in Austria, these will be Conversano Toscana III's first foals in America.
Whether you are looking for an outstanding dressage prospect, an all around riding horse, a companion, or enrichment for your breeding program, Rolling Acres Farm has the Lipizzan for you!
